SSA Conference will be fully virtual except for WA Delegates who are still able to attend face to face at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. WA Hub will start on Wednesday 13th October. Please note that there will be no in-person presentation. All conference presentations will be online.
All Pre Conference workshop will be in a virtual format.

If you are planning to attend in person, please use the below registration type when registering for the event. We are encouraging WA delegates to meet in person, watch the conference together and have valuable networking time. WA attendees will also get full catering during the conference.

The Department of Health, WA has allocated funding to assist WA Nurses and Allied Health Professionals to attend the SSA 2021 Conference in person. Due to the change in format, this has also now been extended to WA Medical and Non Medical attendees.
New Subsidy applies for both WA Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Medical and Non Medical Registration Type.
- Based in WA
- Working primarily in a Stroke service (acute, rehabilitation and/or community-based service)
- Involved in caring for public stroke patients
- Attend the SSA 2021 Conference in person at the PCEC
You will get a $150 subsidy for a full registration and $100 subsidy for student and day registration.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if the event is cancelled due to COVID?
At this stage, if there is a COVID outbreak and the conference is not able to go ahead face to face, the conference will move 100% virtual. This would mean, standard delegates will get a partial refund back and will still be able to attend the conference virtually.
With the current situation, the committee have decided to move the event fully virtual with a WA hub who are still able to meet in person. Please note that all presentations will be online.
What happens if the event is postponed due to COVID?
The committee will give delegates an opportunity to roll over their registration to the new dates or will offer a full refund.
What if I cancel? (Not COVID related)
Our standard cancellation terms will then be applicable. We require cancellation in writing. Cancellations received between April and 31st July will be issued a full refund minus an administration fee. Any cancellations from 31st July up to the conference will be liable for the full cost.
The committee will endeavour to be as flexible and understanding as possible for attendees and will look at cancellations (non-COVID related) on a case-by-case scenario.
Should I get travel insurance?
If you are travelling for the conference, we highly recommend you get travel insurance. The conference organisers will not be responsible for any issues that arises with individual delegate travel.
